How the hell does EVERYBODY (almost) manage to misspell "definitely"? Ok. Look at the word. Say it out loud. Sound it out. Even from the way you say it, you should be able to hear that there's no A in definitely. Try some other, similar words. Infinitely. Again, no A ( Read more... )

I hear that.

Misuse of they're/their/there and you're/your also makes the urge to kill rise.

And a LOT of other things, including people who can't pronounce "nuclear", "buried", "February"... etc etc.

P.S. Sarah, how does one misspell something right? =P

You know, that is definately one of my pet peeves too (hehehehe)
I used to get pissed about spelling a lot, but now I live with Andrew so I've learned to let go.
"I love you absolootley" scrawled on the mirror in dry erase marker is still a sweet gesture. :)

I've always spelled definately with an "a" just like that...
Spell check has eradicated my need to *actually* learn to spell. But I'll take note: definitely. no "i".
