I don't think that I have told you all about my new neighbors yet. let me do this in a pro/con format, comparing them to the old neighbors

My main problems with neighbors are incense and cigarette smoke, but I only smell it when I'm outside or my sliding glass door is open, which doesn't happen too often now that it's cold outside. Carpet is both a pro and a con?

Yes, carpet is good because it dampens noise - both mine and the neighbors- and bad because I prefer hardwood floors (which my last apartment had).

ahh, i see. hardwood floors are nice. i'm super jealous of my neighbors because they got the nice, new upgraded apartment after the last people moved out. it has new carpet and hardwood floors at the entrance and in the hallway. best of both worlds.
