A major tournament in London the weekend before.

An evil part of me is kind of excited that this might be the coldest WSC of all time. I've been training for this my whole life!

Hah!

Was it drbing who noted that he had much better NSC performances when the temperature was lower? Maybe I'll put some money on Dave.

A major tournament in London

This is just a good idea in general.

Isn't that also incentive to go to the tournament in London and not worlds? in terms of vacation days, money, etc. That is a far more appealing idea :)

I don't think it would siphon of as many as Causeway will. I think it might encourage more people to hit both instead of skipping it entirely.

I think that requires people having even more money and vacation time than they need to just go to one tournament abroad.

The people who can already afford it would probably just go to Poland anyway.

I hope they come to their senses.

Well, yeah. But it would still be less than going to Worlds and then going to Causeway on the other side of the world. For me, London + Warsaw might end up being similar cost-wise to Causeway.

I do think there would be a market for this, among Worlds qualifiers and non-qualifiers alike (I bet a number of the non-qualifiers from the US would go), and I think the Brits would be missing a huge opportunity it they didn't do this.
