Chasing Cars
Piper held up the USB stick he'd found in his workshop and arched an eyebrow at Trickster. "What the hell is up with this?"
Trickster recognised it immediately and blushed bright red. He turned to stare indignantly at 'Pervy-Rat', as he called her; she chittered with chirping laughter. "Youuuuuuuuuu don't like it?"
Piper considered his options. JJ had left a USB stick full of self-porn in his apartment, after apologising for calling him a 'stupid fag.' And he was blushing. Perhaps... a little risk... "It's hot enough that Mick's wandering around the neighborhood trying to figure out where the smoke is coming from, but that's not the point."
JJ blushed even deeper, which was amazing because James was well known to have a non-functioning embarrassment gene. "Ah, well, y'see... uh... what? Hot, you said?"
"Well, yeah. Ripped blond Italian acrobat, yeah. Curtains, even."
"Ah..."
"It's very cruel of you to toy with me like this, James."
"Wait... Seriously? You find me attractive?"
"....... This is one of those questions that's going to get me into trouble no matter what I say, isn't it."
"I...I didn´t know...I mean, I would have acted if I had knewn....oh my.....because....you know" James blushed deeper.
"And how exactly would you have acted if you had known?"
"....maybeaskedyouout?" Oh my god!
Piper blinked, "..What?"
"You know....date and stuff. A concert, maybe?" pleasedon´thateme
"................................... like.......... the Dolly Deluxe concert tonight?"
"well.....Yeah. If you don´t have any plans for today, would....would you like to go to Dolly Deluxe with me?" James said anxiously, blushing with big eyes and fidgetting.
Piper didn't answer. Instead he turned to his computer and opened a browser. After several minutes he turned, "We can pick up our tickets at the door." James smiled dazzlingly bright. "so......... the feeling is mutual, then?"
James blinked. "...you have feelings for me? but...I thought...."
Piper rolled his eyes and smirked, "Yeah I cuddle up with just everybody. James...... you're the only one who knows my real name."
"Ohmygod, I was such an idiot. Of course it is mutual! I mean, how could I not....you´re so smart, nice, good hearted....and beautiful..." He blushed again, feeling like a fool. "I was so stupid!"
Piper bit his tongue - can't argue with that, but it wouldn't be the first time....
"Come on, I know you wanna agree with me right now - and you would be so right about it"
Piper smiled. "And you wouldn't be the first one, either. Nor the last."
James smiled with relief and reached out. "Shall we go?" Please don´t let him notice that I´m so nervous I'm shaking...
Piper noticed the shaking hand and took it in his own, squeezing gently, warmly, then stood up. He contemplated James for a moment. ".......If I kiss you, are you going to freak out on me again?"
"I may die from happiness, but feel free to go ahead," James babbled.
"Okay..." Piper took his other hand, then leaned forward to kiss his lips lightly.
For JJ, it was all sparkles, fireworks and a dozen other cliches come true and the kiss surpassed them all. He threaded their fingers together, tried to step even closer and just lose himself in the moment. Maybe a second passed, maybe two, maybe a thousand...who cares?
