Even though he had to allow extra time, Roger decided to walk to his meeting with Hermione. He was up, anyway, and it was nice out, really. He just hoped the scones didn't get cold. He could perform a heating charm easily enough, but it was like Victoria said; they didn't quite taste the same when you did that.
He carried a bag with all seven manuscripts inside. He'd placed them into the bag just before leaving his flat without really looking at them. It was a bit strange, now he thought about it. He was going to publish his parents' books. Now that they were gone, it seemed he was becoming more involved with them than he'd been while they were alive these past years. It wasn't as if he'd been too interested in that part of their lives, even when they had been talking, but now...It was just strange. If they were alive right now, he'd likely not be talking to them still. There was shame in that. No matter what estrangement they'd had, it should not have taken death to realise what they'd meant to him. And after all, that was partially why he was doing this.
And I really should have apparated, he thought. Had I apparated, I'd not have had time for these thoughts.
At any rate, he was approaching the property now. It really would make a nice bookshop, he noted, looking at the house as he headed to the front door. Spacious, but it didn't take away from the coziness. And the location was spectacular. Out of the way, but not too far. Definitely a place he would frequent. He was smiling when he reached the door and knocked.
