RP: Coming for the Cat

Roger shifted the logs around on the fireplace. Then he crossed the sitting room into the kitchen and looked out the window again. It was a bit difficult not to anyway; the windows were huge. It was one of the things he liked about the place, after all. And it was dark, so he couldn't even see much. But as he bent down to scratch Crookshanks again, he took another peek out.
He flicked on the radio and went to the fridge to get himself a beer. Crookshanks followed, and he took a stool at the small island. The fire was warm, and the half-kneazle had taken to sitting in front of it today, so he must like Roger if he'd moved from that spot to follow him. The cat was okay, Roger thought now. He was quiet, a good listener, and he didn't scratch all over things like he'd heard cats tended to do. And he wasn't bad company; they'd gotten along pretty well today.
Hermione was coming to pick up the cat, but he wasn't sure when she'd said, or if she'd even said when. All he knew was that she'd been away overnight-- doing some sort of work, with Blaise Zabini-- then gone to a dinner party, and would be by after. He looked down at Crookshanks.
"Where's your mum, eh?" Roger asked him. "Reckon she misses you?"
