Owl: To Hermione Granger

Feb 06, 2007 19:46

Date: February 6, 2005
Characters: Gilderoy Lockhart, Hermione Granger
Location: Gildery Shoppe, Hermione’s place
Status: Private
Summary: Gilderoy does one thing better than all others.
Completion: Incomplete

From the moment Gilderoy saw Hermione’s Notice, he knew what he ought to do. Hermione had helped him get his little sheepy darlings, and it was time to pay her back.

He had been shopping for some basic provisions, and was taking his time in heading back to the shop, but upon seeing the notice, he raced the rest of the way back home. As soon as he arrived, he put his bag on the kitchen counter and raced over to his stash of parchment and grabbed his favorite quill.

“Knobby, can you put those things away? I have a letter to write!” he called, and settled in at the kitchen table to write.

Miss Hermione,

I cannot tell you how pleased and excited I am to learn of your grand opening. It has seemed like a cultural oasis in town without a bookstore, and it’s an act of immense courage and good will for you to start a business venture like this.

In order to support you in your efforts, I would like to volunteer my presence at your opening to greet people and, of course, sign copies of my books. I still receive an impressive amount of fan mail from all over the world, and I’m sure it would be a fantastic draw to your store.

Of course, we’ll have to get started on the marketing immediately. But worry not, I shall send out a few owls, and begin promoting this event immediately!

If you need copies of my books to sell, I can arrange for a case or two to be delivered. Please let me know as soon as possible so I can make arrangements.

~Sincerely,
Gilderoy Lockhart
