RP: Opening Day

The store looked perfect. Eloise stood in the doorway and looked from the display cases on the left, past the counter and display cases, to the tables and shelves on the right that were covered with packaged items she'd exported from the Continent.
The shop smelled of chocolate and coffee, and there was a general selection of teas and other coffee flavors available. The seating area in the former photography studio was in good order, with a dozen tables surrounded with chairs of various numbers. Candles lit the shop, and there were temperature charms that her father had cast for her to keep the shop at an ideal climate.
All in all, she was even more pleased than she'd expected. There might have been a benefit to having to take longer to open than originally planned because she'd had time to make sure she'd not forgotten anything. Of course, she figured she'd have a list of things she had forgotten by the end of the day, but it still looked great. The product was what mattered, and she was confident in her ability to make fudge and sweets, but the presentation was important, too. If not, she wouldn't have had to listen to lectures on marketing and presentation during her apprenticeship.
Marian had already left for school, so it was just her. Marcus Flint had offered to come by to help out today since she'd not had time to hire anyone yet, but she wasn't sure what time or if he'd remember the offer. She hoped to have customers, yet she was resolved to being quite happy if even a half dozen wandered in to look around. After she waved her wand to turn the sign over to 'Open', she did a little dance that didn't suit the quiet classical Wizarding music that she had playing. By noon, she'd be listening to the Weird Sisters, she knew, but, for now, she liked the quiet music that her father listened to all the time.
Content that there was nothing else for her to do right now, she cast appropriate charms on her robe to keep the pale yellow material from getting dirty and went to make a fresh batch of fudge to offer as free samples. She had to do something while waiting to see if anyone showed, after all.
