Having finished dinner Tuesday evening, Su sat curled up on the couch with a book. She found she couldn't concentrate, although Villette was one of her favorite books, and put it aside with a sigh. I wonder what Lee's doing tonight, she wondered idly. Maybe I should stop by for dessert or something. She was about find her shoes for the walk upstairs when she paused to think. When was the last time I spent time with someone other than Lee? She had run into Wayne on Saturday, and Daphne a few weeks before that, but Su hadn't seen any of her friends in ages. What had happened? Lee had become a dear friend in the few short weeks she'd known him, but it frightened her to realize how close he had become. She had vowed not so long ago to keep men at a distance, and here she was not six months later breaking that promise.
With that thought in mind, Su went to her desk, pulled out parchment and quill, and began to write.

How have you been? How are things at the hospital? I heard about the potions troubles. I hope things are better now.
I'm sorry for being so out of touch lately. Would you like to get together? I'm working at the Ministry, but I could meet for dinner this week, or lunch on the weekend. I miss you.

Finishing the letters, Su folded and addressed them before giving them to Pasha. "Wait around to see if anyone wants to respond, yeah?" The bird gently nipped her finger in response, and Su kissed the top of his head before sending him off into the night.
