OWL: Cedric to Rabastan

Apr 15, 2007 14:23

Date: 15 April 2005
Characters: Cedric Diggory, Rabastan Lestrange
Location: homes
Status: Private
Summary: Cedric lets Rabastan know that the museum now has a curator, and he may have found somebody interested in running an arts fest.
Completion: Incomplete

Cedric should have owled Rabastan on Tuesday after chatting with Su, or even the week before, after officially hiring Bill. He'd just been ... distracted, and his distraction was named Katie. In any case, a letter was overdue to his patron and friend, so on Sunday morning, he sat down at his desk and wrote:

Dear Rabastan,

I hope this finds you well, and I apologize for being out of touch for a while. Not -- I know -- that you either expect or necessarily want to hear from me constantly, but I did wish to share some good news.

First, the museum now has an official curator. Bill Weasley did want the job. He started this past week and we've already moved a third to half of the artifacts from the old museum.

Second, I may have found someone interested in running an arts fest. Su Li, who works for the Ministry's Department of International Magical Cooperation, happens to have a Muggle degree in art history, and she was very intrigued by the idea. I told her that you'd suggested it, and I'd spoke about it to Blaise Zabini, and also suggested that she contact Narcissa Malfoy. In any case, if you should hear from her, you'll know who she is and why she's owling you.

Third, in mid-May, I'll be traveling to Athens to meet with the curator of the Magical National Museum there about the possibility of an exhibit exchange some time in the future. (Bill will probably be contacting the fellow in Cairo about the same, as he knows him personally.) Obviously no dates have been set, or even planned at this point, but its exciting.

I'm still uncertain when the museum will open formally. I'd hoped for early May but realize that's improbable at best, so late May or early June is more likely.

Cheers!
--Cedric
