It was the perfect plan, flawless. He'd hit on the idea yesterday after seeing a foreign newspaper someone left lying around Auror Headquarters. Languages weren't Ernie's strong suit, but there was one word which didn't need any translation. And he knew that it was just the thing with which to surprise Eleanor. Now the execution needed to be equally flawless. There were tickets to purchase and portkeys to arrange. First and foremost, however, Eleanor needed the day off.
Which was why he was skulking on Alpha. Finally, someone came down the road and started up the path to the Bookworm. He fell in behind them, slipping into the shop as the chime sounded. Quickly ducking behind a display, he held his breath, hoping that Eleanor hadn't seen him. Perhaps it would have been better to come tomorrow, he thought somewhat belatedly. He was here now, though, and determined to carry out his plan. He skirted along the perimeter of the shop, poking his head around shelving to make certain that Eleanor wasn't anywhere in the immediate vicinity.
