It was still a long walk from Albus Avenue to the end of South Street. He was glad he had been taking increasingly longer walks since recovering from being sick or he doubted he would have made it this far.
Walk aside, Kingsley wasn't sure he wanted to be doing this. He wasn't sure he didn't either. Susan confused him. He was sure he didn't want to think about how uncomfortable he was leaving her without his help. It didn't matter that he left in the dead of winter. He knew he'd left without more than a few words. It didn't matter that she rarely showed any emotion. He knew they were there. He'd seen her angry once.
Damn. She had been pretty all worked up like that. He was not giving in to that thought. Especially not this close to the farm. Especially since he was sure he didn't want her angry at him.
He saw her working the vegetable patch. He was able to watch her for bit before she saw him headed her way.
