"I think you need to make more chocolate ice cream," Felicity anounced as she wandered out from Florean's office.
Florean raised his eyebrows, penciling in another number on his suduko. With no electricity in the town, he couldn't use him computer, which he normally mostly used for games of solitaire during quieter moments in the shop. It was also good for clearing his mind when he was trying to think of new products for the shop, which was usually his main excuse for playing it.
"And why's that?"
"Because I kind of ate the last of it?" Felicity suggested.
"Flick..."
"I'm bored!"
"Have you finished your homework?"
Felicity scowled, narrowing her eyes. "Yes."
"Good. Martha'll be back in a minute. Do you want me to take you home?" As much as Florean enjoyed his daughter's company when she was in a good mood, which she had been earlier. Those narrowed eyes usually spelled the beginning of a sulky few hours, which were never fun. It was times like these when Florean wondered what it would be like to have a teenage son rather than a daughter.
She hesitated. "Yeah, I suppose."
"We can stay if you want." Florean felt rather hopeful; all he wanted right now was for his daughter to like spending time in Stoatshead Hill, knowing perfectly well that she wasn't going to like the news that they family would be moving here in July after she had finished school for the year.
"If you want," Felicity said with a shrug. She frowned, looking carefully at him for a moment. "I'm going to go and check on the chickens," she announced, flouncing out to the back of the shop and making Florean shake his head in amusement at her retreating back. Females were definitely complicated creatures.
