Oliver hated rainy weather. He never did quite get the hang of those water repelling charms, so no matter what, he always seemed to get soaking wet. He had awoken that morning to a loud crash as the wind knocked a potted plant off the edge of his window sill outside and onto his balcony. And then it seemed that his hot water wasn't wanting to work, so he'd taken a cold shower and went in search of food. He was disappointed to find that his larder was nearly empty. Perhaps he'd try the market. It hadn't started to rain yet, though the sky was pretty dark for the morning hour. Hopefully it would still be open. Either way, it couldn't hurt to try.
Pocketing what little money he had, Oliver nibbled on his lower lip. He didn't want to spend it all. Maybe he could barter services of some sort in exchange for food. He had just about enough of everything else he needed to last another week or so. He found his jacket and a hat, tugged them both on, and made his way out.
His eyes were on the ground in front of him, and he wasn't paying attention to much. He made it outside and was turning the corner when he ran right into another body.
