Caradoc had returned home after school and changed out of his suit into something more comfortable for a late summer walk down to Bookworm. After meeting the students today, he decided to see if Hermione could get her hands on some Style Guides for him to have in his classroom to loan to students unfamiliar with writing papers and essays. He was also in the mood for starting a new mystery now that his grandkids had returned to America, and he planned to pick up a book for himself. After he placed his order for school, he browsed the Mystery section, but didn't find anything he hadn't already read that appealed to him.
It was still early enough that he decided to apparate to Oxford to do a little book shopping. He made a mental note to find out about the Michelmas term's Clarendon Lectures in English. Caradoc thought Irma would enjoy attending those and possibly some of the Ashmolean Museum events. Setting his destination firmly in mind, he moved with all deliberation and determination. After collecting what he needed, he moved on to Broad Street to browse Blackwell's. A new mystery, a new thriller, and a beautifully photographed book on lovemaking full of amazingly erotic ideas, left the bookstore with him. After apparating home and eating a late dinner, Caradoc went to his den to look over his purchase and compose a note.
Dear Irma,
Here's something I thought we'd both like that I found this evening at Blackwell's. I'm fascinated by page 173, but wouldn't object to taking a linear approach if you'd like to conduct some research by beginning at the beginning. I thought it would be practical to experiment with variations, then categorize and catalog our preferences, if you'd agree.
Caradoc adjusted himself a bit. Imagining Irma and himself in place of the couple on page 173 had him as hard as a rock. That woman was a sensual feast masquerading as a wholesome snack, with her no nonsense attitude and sensible shoes. And Caradoc loved it, because he'd experienced what happened when those shoes came off. That prim manner was incredibly erotic when Irma abandoned herself to pleasure.
I didn't have enough time to properly browse all of Blackwell's this evening. I thought I'd return to Oxford on Saturday to look around some more. Would you like to join me?
Yours,
Caradoc
After he wrapped the book, he attached the note, sent Dex off to Irma's flat, then finally leaned back in his chair and let his imagination out to play. His new mystery could wait until tomorrow.
