Caradoc finished his grading early. His latest textbook sat on the corner of his desk, ready to be delivered to Hermione next week for publication. It was the first in what he hoped would be a new series of works vastly different than anything else ever used in Britain. Designed for the apprentice-level student, incorporating International Standards for Mastery in Charms, Caradoc had dedicated the book to both his Hogwarts Professor and his Charms Master. He was looking forward to using it to teach a new generation of Charms Masters. Perhaps it was ironic, but it had been a pair of former Death Eaters who convinced him it was time Britain began training its own masters again and he should start them off. Julian Avery and Rabastan Lestrange had both urged so rationally, yet so mildly, about the need for higher education and more masters, that Caradoc could only agree that it was time to begin searching for one or two young people interested in taking their knowledge of Charms further than the NEWT level. With that in mind, he'd written an advert for inclusion in The Prophet which he planned to drop off tomorrow. He tucked the parchment headed Charms Master Seeks Apprentices under the paperweight before calling out to his elf Cai that he would be at the Five Alarm if Irma or anyone else was to Floo.
The Five Alarm was a bustling place, full of laughing, happy people. He took a seat at the bar and waited for Rosie, Molly or one of the others to free up so he could order a pint.
