I get sent home from work today because I am sick and look/feel awful. There was genuine concern on the part of my teammates and especially my manager. I never thought that I could form such a tight bond with coworkers, but I suppose that spending 50+ hours a week in close quarters with people will do that quickly. It is great to see some pretty high profile projects that I have been actively involved in finally getting launched. The first project is that we finally offer spelling correction for Russian queries entered into www.google.ru or www.google.com when the interface language is set to Russian. For those of you that are last.fm users I highly recommend the firefox extension found at http://code.yerblog.com/lastfm/ . It allows you to submit songs played in pandora to your last.fm profile! Very cool combination of the two awesome music web sites.

So today is Google's 8th birthday (as evidenced by the doodle on www.google.com ). To celebrate they had a "secret" concert by a triple platinum recording artist the fantastic, the incomparable.....
