Just came back and had a great time. Loved them all, and everyone else seems to have their favourites but I loved McCoy. Thought he had just the right touch of wry... or was it Rye in that flask ( Read more... )

I think I need a few more encouragement before I will go see Star Trek. ;)

Think of it as a movie about a graduating class of highly intelligent students who are sent on a really difficult mission. It seemed more like a movie teens would like as much as adults. It was really fun!

I do think it was Uhura's face that looked thin to me more than anything else, but my husband didn't seem to notice specifically. We both agreed she looked like Jada-Pinkett Smith. Again, it could have been the way her hair was done. Maybe her skin looked too pulled back.

I know you liked Spock, and I can see why... gee a reserved, intelligent, logical man who is secretly passionately in love with a smart, confident woman? I can't understand why you'd be attracted to that! ;)

Still, McCoy's sense of humour stole some scenes, imo, particularly from Kirk -- not that I'm crushing, I just enjoyed him as a supporting character... and the Russian was soooooo adorably cute! Such a sweet, eager little boy! :P

I loved McCoy - he had some great lines too! I had a crush on him the minute I saw him! (little did I know who he really was in real life - no wonder I liked him!) I can't wait for the next movie to come out and I have to see this one again - I enjoyed it so much.

Uhura was one of my least favorites, but I still liked her character, but yes, the hair always pulled back looked so severe most of the time, but I did like the canoodling with Spock. I also really liked the way he just gave in instantly when she "demanded" that he put her on the Enterprise (before we know what's really going on between them).

Funny, I started to make some Star Trek icons, and who did I want one of most? McCoy, of course! (I just didn't make one I liked enough to keep, I'm so out of the icon making mode.)
