Our 18 month old cannot pronounce her "r"s yet... um... so you can imagine what these words sound like in our house right now:
shirt
fork

DH and I are smirking an awful lot at the moment. *tee hee*

"Fork" sounds like f*ck for me already, but maybe that's the Manchester thing. Or maybe I have a dirty mind. A bit of both, probably ;)

Well, there's a reason people say we live "oop North" ;) Actually I don't say "up" like "oop" (not quite), but I know people who do. You should hear my mother-in-law! She's from Oldham and she has a pretty strong accent.

"Shirt" and "shit" are definitely different though, even without the 'r'.

We're trying very hard to keep our laughter in check so that you-know-who doesn't pick up on it. He has copied her on occasion, but only when we've really reacted to a word she's said. When she called "kiwi" -- "kiki", we thought that was sooooooo cute so J. immediately started copying.
