So, as I was watching the news tonight - as I do most nights - I found myself not only angry, and shocked but absolutely disgusted by America yet again. A speaker for a TB Society was denied access to America simply because he was HIV Positive, which makes him an 'undesirable' apparrently. I suppose there is some consolation in that they are taking steps to lift the ban. Still, it's a pretty grim law.

It's a bit like not allowing gay men to give blood. Until that ban is lifted, I will not give blood.

Gay men aren't allowed to give blood? WTF! I hadn't heard of that rule, and I agree -- I hate how people discrimate against gay's as if every single one has HIV/AIDs. It's like.. a straight guy could give blood and then turn out to have HIV. It doesn't 'choose' a "host" dependant on sexuality, ffs.

People are bloody stupid. But no, like you said I won't give blood until that's lifted either now.
