[Accidental] Video ✖ 016

[The screen of the Dreamberry clicks on, pointed towards the floor. Wet bootprints litter the wooden floor of the hallway, the owner of this recording not even bothering to remove their footwear just yet. They seem to be having difficulty keeping the Dreamberry steady as they stand outside an open door, looking into the dark room ( Read more... )

[Not... sure what to say as he watches the video that's obviously on by accident. Still, he felt the need to see how he was doing in person. He didn't know him as well as Danny but he was still, a friend and this was probably hard on him like it was for himself. Frank will probably notice Roxas walking up to where Danny's room used to be and just standing there looking at the door solemnly in understanding.]

...

[He chooses not to say anything at first, just in case Frank wanted to say something or, just talk about something different. Either way he'd understand.]

[Frank is just sitting outside of Danny's room, his back against the wall as he remains by the door frame. His head is lowered, resting on his knees as he ignores the beeping of his nearby Dreamberry. Although he's heard Roxas approaching, he made no move nor sound to acknowledge the other boy's presence.]

[... After waiting for what seemed like a long moment. It seemed that Frank isn't going to say anything first so that means he should. Hopefully he helps]

He... might come back.

[Frank slowly lifts his head and looks to Roxas, just watching him for a few moments. It's possible Danny could return - but such a thing had been said about many others. Anise had not returned, Colette had not returned, Big Boss nor Aerith had returned either.

They had all left, returned to their home worlds, just as Danny had done.]

Do you believe that?

[Frank doesn't respond, ignoring the voice that comes from his Dreamberry. He doesn't want to talk right now to a familiar face - let alone Meryl.]

[Naomi, despite her obvious close relationship with Danny, has never seen the previously messy room in which he lived at the church. Because of that, the view of an empty room means nothing to her yet. Frank's strange reaction to the room, however, raises her sisterly concern.]

Frank? What is it?

[Naomi is left waiting, staring up at the church ceiling for more than a few minutes before she can finally hear Frank start to shuffle nearby. His boots click closer towards the communicator before he's finally in sight, reaching down to pick it up. He looks tired and disheveled - but how much of that exhaustion is physical and how much is emotional is impossible to tell.

He stares down at Naomi for a while without a response before finally murmuring-]

...Danny.

[The woman's immediate thought is that Danny's been severely injured. Why else would the usually stoic Frank Jaeger look as distraught as this?]

He's hurt, isn't he? You're at the church? Please call the ambulance, but I'll be there as quick as I can.

[Frank doesn't move, all he does he continue to stare down at Naomi's image in the Dreamberry. His eye twitches a little, as though fighting back something powerful that threatens to rise up inside of him. He can't speak - all he can do is try to focus himself as he gazes at his sister.]

[There was something about the way Frank looked that worried Sunny when she realized he was the one broadcasting. Why would he have dropped his Dreamberry? She didn't know anything about the church, so she had no idea if it was important to him, or if it even had anything to do with the video.]

F-Frank?

[Sunny remains another voice that Frank is unable to completely ignore. Though he would rather the youth not witness him in such a state, it takes a few minutes for Frank to retrieve his Dreamberry, rubbing his eyes a bit with his palm. He looks down at the girl on the screen, not yet responding.]

[His silence was just worrying her more.]

Are y-you ok? Did s-someone get hurt?

[He remains quiet for a moment longer before he finally chooses to speak. As Snake had told him somewhat recently, even he and Sunny had lost someone they were very close to. Sunny understands the feeling of loss.]

...Another individual I have grown close to has left Somarium.

[At Snake's voice, Frank lifts his head and moves towards his discarded Dreamberry. Snake will provide an adequate distraction right now, not wishing to dwell any longer than he has on Danny's disappearance.]

Do you have orders for me?

[It isn't going to be a simple task to simply up and forget about the issue he's currently facing - and Snake is making it evident. Only a short time ago, Frank had found himself seeking the older man's guidance and company after Aerith had vanished. With Danny leaving this world as well, he finds himself uncertain of what to do or how to react; there's a certain lingering feeling in his chest, it's similar to one he felt after Aerith's disappearance yet somehow, the ache seems stronger.

It's a dull ache but it grows steadily as each silent moment ticks onwards. How can he admit such a thing to Snake? Is such a weakness permitted? How can he be expected to serve and do his duty if Snake were to feel his mental state were not up to par?

It's not a risk he is willing to take.]

...No, Sir.
