This story belongs to karasu_hime who requested it in a Meme I posted in April of 2007. It became fairly larger than the drabble lists everyone else received, and sort of took on a life of its own, but I do hope you enjoy it.

Lovely story. I like the intensity and the fact that Severus is the one who says the L-word.

One note about this sentence: Then Severus’ fingers were suddenly in his hair, carting through Remus’ fringe distractedly, in the same way he had been previously ripping the paper.
: "carting" is hauling stuff around. You want "carding" which is running hooks through tangled fibers to straighten them.

Wow, this has me in knots. The good kind, of course. Great use of sparse language to paint such a full story. I adore between the war and first war stories so much, and I'm so happy to read this. What an angsty treat! :)
