Wait, so I don't understand why you can't move somewhere for the summer?

Many towns, especially ones with colleges have apartments with summer subleases. Sure, most of your money will be going towards rent but at least you'll have your sanity.

Well, technically I could. Only thing is that the parents definitely wouldn't be happy about that one because where I am going to be working will be so close to home...just wouldn't make sense. That would cause a bit of a family rift. Other thing is I'd rather be around where I can at least help the brother(s) out if I have to. Also, I am cheap.
I mean it probably won't be much unlike any other summer I've had to endure so far. I work all the time anyway, so during the day I'm usually never around. It's just that after a hard day of work coming home to a piss drunk mom can really piss me off after a while/wear on me. I pretty much just hole up in the basement, where I live for the summer....

There comes a time where you have to fly from the nest and do your own thing. It sounds like you're more than ready.

I'm sure that subleasing somewhere in E. Lansing wouldn't be that expensive. It wouldn't be that far away, so you could still help out with your brothers. Moving out will give you some sanity, and that will allow you to better help other people. Just think about it, okay?

Okay, I will think about it. In terms of the parents being unhappy, I guess I'm more worried that I don't know what my mom would do with me moving out like that. She'd probably just drink more. I'd have to give some sort of a reason for moving out, and since my parents know how much I like to maximize profit, they're not likely to believe that I simply want to be on my own. Especially my mom since she doesn't listen to anything I say anyway. No matter the reason, it would probably be an excuse for her to drink more.
In any event, I'll have to ask kismet1412 what she knows about rent costs in East Lansing, since she lives there.
