It was all entirely too easy, like opening a door and then just waiting for her to step through it. Not much of a challenge, but still satisfying all the same. Sylar smiled to think of it, and so looked as if he was terribly pleased at Eden's approval.

"Great," he said, and offered her his arm before leading her slowly down the path towards the beach. "It's been a nice few days," he remarked as they walked, purposely awkward in his small talk.

"It's pretty much always nice here," Eden said. She hadn't even thought to refuse his arm, but it felt strange now, linked to him like this, touching him even in this innocuous way. There were moments when the mental divide between Drew and Sylar, which she had so carefully built, began to blur in her worried mind. "I guess there are worse places to go -" when you die. "If you've got to disappear somewhere."
