Nerds! I need your help!

I need to compile a list of awesome, well known characters from ANY fandom!  (heyyyy look Lauren is planning for her panel week of :D)  I need you to tell me your characters, and what fandom they're from, and what gender they are (in case it is ambiguous - I'm looking at you, QUINA)  and we're rockin.

So how does this work? You throw the names in a hat or something? And, er ... you want ANY fandom? Evar? So you've got Star Trek and Star Wars all lined up already? (Don't forget Picard & Data - everyone wants to see that pairing!) How about Greek and Norse mythologies? Do you already have...

Battlestar Galactica: Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, Lee "Apollo" Adama, Admiral "William" Adama, Laura "Airlock" Roslin

LotR: Frodo "puke face" Baggins, Sam "ain't been droppin' no eaves" Gamgee, Gandalf the "White" Wizard, Aragorn "the Sexy" son of Arathorn, Shadowfax, Gimli, Treebeard, Merry & Pippin, Denethor, Boromir (THINK OF THE POSSIBILITIES), but ... please ... not Legolas. Maybe Glorfindel, though. He's cool.

Whedonisms: Spike, Willow, Angel (can you imagine someone trying to make him sound attractive?), Illyria, Wesley ... they're always lovetriangling, though, so we've seen it all before. How
