About 10 year worth of movie ticket stubs.
Large canvas.
Liquid starch.

I'm thinking...paper mache + collage = art?

I'm currently separating the ticket stubs into categories. Loved, cried, cute, waste of time etc etc. I kind of want to designate sections on the canvas. I also want to see if there's any correlation between a crappy movie and a particular theater where I saw it. Or the company I was with. Because weirdly, on the back of my stubs I write who I went with.

I'm thinking I'm going to have to make color copies of the tickets and use that. The trial I did on a duplicate REFUSED to stick to the canvas. I suppose I could just glue the actual stubs to the canvas and then use some kind of clear coat over the top when I'm done. As I said...I'm not sure it's worth all that much effort. But if it work out, I plan to use my other large canvas to display concert tickets. :)

mod podge might work better than liquid starch? or are they the same thing? i think as long as you decoupage instead of just gluing it on it should work.

i always wish i saved stuff like this! my language exchange partner in paris had all of her concert and movie stubs displayed on her wall and i thought it was really neat so do it!

I have liquid starch on hand because of all the pinata/paper mache projects that I do over the summer with Audra. You may be on to something with mod podge, because that's kind of a glue and a sealer thing too.

I also decided that I need to paint the background black to help the colors stand out.

I don't really know why I saved movie stubs all these years. They're always in my wallet or purse. When I'd clean it out and find them they'd get stuck into an index card holder I have. After a while, that just became a habit. That's where they belong, apparently. There's 83 total, and probably only a few missing from over the years. I don't think I have any others stashed in random places. Price ranges from $2.50 (the cheapo second-run place) to $15 for a 3D double feature. Gotta compile stats like this for the finished piece. :)
