You're right and stuff. I haven't been in one of those situations in, well, never probably. I've always thought light of it but it IS stealing. Now that I'm in retail, that kind of stuff pisses my off because someone, somewhere down the line, will have to take the blame or pay the price.
I agree completely. I always tell the person about the money difference if I notice it at the time. Only once have I noticed a problem and not told the person about it. This was getting some hot dogs at weinerschnitzel and I was very low on money at the time. So I was weakened and took the extra change he gave me. Felt terrible about it ever since. That was the only time I did it and I certainly don't want to justify it. It was a bad thing to do.
In Monopoly, you get the $50 bank error in your favor community chest card. There's no "tell the teller there was an error" option on the card. You take that $50 and you fucking buy a house on Baltic is what you do.
Yeah I live life like Monopoly. That's why I drive a shoe.
BUT, should one even bother to inform a cashier if they've been given too much at a fast food place? If in fact you do, they can get in trouble and they'll end up either letting you have it anyway or disposing of it. Everybody loses!
See, first off, if you see you have too much in the bag, or it's not what you ordered, damn rigt you tell em. Now, if they say "Ah, don't worry about it", then sure, take it. BUT. That's not what happened with my fast food thing. We got back to the house, and one of my hamburgers wasn't in the bag (I paid for two, got one). SO I went back up there, and told them that neither of my burgers had been in the bag. They just gave me two more, becuase they didn't care, and so I got a free hamburger. THAT was wrong.

If I noticed it halfway home, lazyness would kick in and I wouldn't bother.
