Do you have things under control over there now?
If so, could someone find the time to fill me in on exactly what has happened, beyond what I've gathered from the network? What's the damage to the ship? How badly is the Captain injured? What about everyone else?
I'll come and meet -

Eh? Oh, yeah...
The Victoria II has sustained great damage because of the explosives but these damages can be repaired easily in about a week or so. As for its crew...
Many of us are out of commission right now.

...even the Admiral, Vimes.

I'd gathered the Admiral was out of it. But, on a scale of one to dead, how bad? If you don't know any more, fair enough, it's just...
I would like to know exactly what kind of crew I'm coming back to. I should have been there in the first place, after all.
Sounds like the crew's going to need more time to recover than the ship...speaking of which, Seagill, how are you? You really don't sound too good.

The smell of blood became the new fragrance here aboard this ship but now the chaos has calmed down significantly.
Plenty of the officers were badly injured as well...
The Admiral lost his eye, Vimes. His left eye, I think...
I should know since I was there when the bomb went off in the engine room. I took the brunt of it for the Admiral, tried to shield him from the explosion but...
The shrapnel hit him...in the eye and when I first woke up in the engine room, I saw the nurse and the doctor working on yanking it out.
So yeah…
I am not feeling good or looking good.

...if you took the brunt of it and he's the one that's lost an eye, you must be in pretty bad shape yourself.
Not having a good time of it lately, are you, Seagill?

As for what happend... somebody infiltrated the ship, and planted a series of simple explosives in key areas. They were crude and easy to disable, but there were enough of the things placed on the ship to cause everybody a great deal of trouble.
[the pacing returns, but is replaced by the soft creak of leather as he sits down in his chair] Fortunately, we were able to root out enough to prevent lasting damage. The ship's been battered, but she's sturdy enough to make it to Clairborne without us falling from the sky. With some repairs she'll be as good as new - soon I'll send you a detailed list of the materials and ( ... )

[another brief pause]
I've booked myself passage on the mail courier to Claibourne, it's the quickest thing around. I should be there enough before you to have things ready in time if you send me that list when you have it ready.

[he mutters something under his breath, before he lets out a frustrated sigh] None as of yet, but we haven't had time to do really do an investigation. Our biggest concern was getting out while the ship was still in the air. If we find out anything, you'll be the first to know.
As for supplies, I'll send the list right over. Thank you, Vimes.
