I've been contemplating a portable music player. Either iPod or Zune - I am currently undecided as to which (and I know several of you on each side of the apple/microsoft divide of this debate). My problem? I really only need a 'music player' not a video device (I don't watch much 'tube anyway) and as I check my music folder I have 31.5gb of

Personally, if I had to pick between a zune and an iPod... I would always choose the iPod.
I, own an iPod. Aubrey owns a zune. The iPod is a lot more user friendly at least in my opinion. With the amount of music you have, if you're planning to store it all on the iPod, then somewhere above 32g is probably advisable. The make the classic now, in 120 g, and i don't think i'm telling you anything different than kevin already did.
Price wise, i prefer the Ipod to the zune, because their customer service is better. Plus, the people at the apple store were nicer. And it seems like you get a better product with apple.

but ultimately, i'd say check them both out, and get whichever you or you/kate prefer.
