The HP's are very stubborn PDA's. Best solution on those is to first and foremost do a hard reset. Hold reset and power, release reset and push power again. Or sometihng like that.
Then, in the power options, turn on USB charging if you haven't already.
Turn off standby after x minutes and let it stay on for a while on the batter screen, so you can track any changes.
If that does not work, then it is truly needing a replacement.
Yeh it well and truly dead. The charging screen never has the battery hit more than 0%. The only weird thing that is troubling me is that while the amber light stays flashing the entire time, the batter indicator goes from charging to not charging and back again every once in a while... making me worry that it might not be the battery that is broke but instead the charger.
