I'm going to start my own hunt three weeks from now when I graduate and move back.

we are looking at Bloomfield NJ
also at Astoria and Long Island City

Queens is the first option, with lookings in all of the following areas: Rego Park, Forest Hills, Astoria, Long Island City, Woodside, Sunnyside, Key Gardens, and Elmhurst.

After that we going to look in Jersey, Long Island, and a bit north of the city.
