Two years here before that critical piece of information was revealed - would you say that's common, Mr. Vimes?

People are generally here for quite a long time before they recover their names, but two years is longer than usual. There doesn't seem to be any concrete pattern for it.

I see there is a whole new vocabulary with which to acquaint myself here.

Not vocabulary so much as things to try to get a handle on. The only words specific to this place are more or less different names for Edensphere and the words "hatched" and "newborn". You can find some very interesting curse words if you poke around, though.
