It's basically a photographic journal of the aftermath, I just included 2 pics but there are many more. Check it out, The pictures are excellent, and by excellent I don't mean the images themselves, but the devastation they reveal. It's the uncensored tragedy the news stations and ( Read more... )

why does every stupid person say where is God now whenever a tragedy befalls?
that's the most uneducated remark i've ever read.

To start, I do not believe God is ever present bc I do not believe that God exists.

Tragedies occur every day, on personal and global scales. I ask the question all the time, not just in this specific case.

Is it "uneducated" to point out the fact that a supposed omnipotent, omniscient deity allows for this to happen? When it is in fact within its power to stop it from occurring?
I understand that the world needs suffering in order to understand joy, but to what degree? Why does God allow for suffering in epic proportions?

I'm just looking for more justification than "everything happens for a reason."...the most bullshit cop-out philosophy of all time. So if you have an answer, feel free to provide rather than simply insult my question!

I am sincerely looking for some explanation from a believer, how can anyone put full faith into a God that allows for such disaster?

Deity is suppose to stop suffering. Isn't that the poorest country in that area of the globe that now got a global recognition that it needs help. "Wanting people to listen, you can't just tap them on the shoulder anymore. You have to hit them with a sledgehammer, and then you'll notice you've got their strict attention."- John Doe off Seven

yeh its a movie but it describes my point. granted he was a crazy fuckin guy but its true.

in no way is God responsible for saving anything but our souls, and he did that.

i am prlly not the person you would like to hear a religious opinion from lol and although i wouldnt consider myself a devout christian, i still have faith in God. instead of focusing on what he hasnt done, such as preventing a natural disaster, maybe focus on the years of beautiful weather we have had? All of our blessings that he has given to us. Its always hard to be positive when something so horrible has happened such as this earthquake, but i think God brings good things out of bad situations. Tragedies like this allow people to realize how precious life really is and that it can be taken away in an instant. It brings people together and makes people stronger. I know it made me realize, im bitching about having cramps and there are people dying all over the world. It makes me more greatful for the life that i have. God allows the earth to reflect the consequences sin has had on creation. Roman 8:19-21. i mean if you dont beleive in God it really doesnt matter that i said any of this. lol but just a thought.

thank you. no one praises God for anything. but the second something horrible happens he's the first to blame.
WOW.

and if you want more proof, God's right infront of your eyes inspiring compassion in the hearts of fellow man to go save his people.

...What?

Your argument is awful.

And how can you learn more about God when there is nothing to learn about God "him"self? There is no Autobiography to read nor a movie to watch that could ever help you learn anything about God.

Please shave your stupid hair and let the natural color grow back.

So we are supposed to praise God for every beautiful day and rainbow and turn around and say.. hey hey... nah.. God def didn't have any part of this horrible thing to happen....???

Maybe YOU are the one who needs to rethink.

lol.

....idk.
I guess I just can't find comfort in the concept of taking away innocent lives so that I can further appreciate or strengthen my own.

Thx for the responses. Good stuff.
