Sequence 03

[maestro_ezio]

Who: maestro_ezio and open!
What: Bare-knuckle boxing and sparring, what could possibly go wrong?
When: About an hour or so after this post
Where: Training rooms.
Warnings: Violence, blood, punching, manly bonding, potentially a lot of half-naked guys? (Ezio's a given here).

Though Zell hadn't needed to use his skills much on the ship, he still liked to train regularly to keep his moves sharp. Anytime he could get a sparring partner was even better. You couldn't practice reading an opponent's moves by repeatedly beating on a punching bag.

He eagerly made his way to the training rooms, looking for the man he spoke with earlier over the Guide. Zell wasn't sure what this person was supposed to look like, but he still kept looking. Eventually, he found Ezio practicing on the punching bag, but Zell wasn't quite sure if this was finally the person he was looking for, after all. There was only one way to find out!

"You Ezio?" he asked with a friendly smile.

Ezio looked over, recognizing the voice. "Si," he said, smiling back. "And you must be Zell." He studied the teenager's build briefly: thin, short, more than likely full of speed than brute strength. It would be an interesting match then.

Zell had no idea what "si" meant, but judging from the man's reaction, he figured he was in the right place. "Yep, that's me!" he replied with a nod. "So, you ready to get started?"

"I am ready when you are," he said, holding his arms out.

Zell took his usual fighting stance, bouncing on the balls of his feet with his fists at the ready. For now, he decided to start out simple, testing the waters by throwing a basic punch at Ezio's torso.

Ezio easily jumped backwards to avoid the blow. Interesting to note his stance, one he would take often but with much less bouncing and more stability. He stepped in and punched as well, wondering how well this Zell knew how to fight considering his stance and rather precise blow.

Though he was very young, Zell was the best hand-to-hand fighter in his school. It wasn't much of a problem for him to dodge a basic punch. As he moved, he swept with his leg, trying to get in a counter-attack.

Ezio was narrowly able to jump out of the way of his sweep, but he nearly lost his balance. He quickly regained his posture and danced around Zell and tried to aim the edge of his palm to the boy's face.

"Whoa!" Zell shouted as he quickly leaned out of the way, putting up his own hand to deflect the attack. For now, he decided to make sure to pay more attention to defense and keeping his footing than to attempt punching back.

"Impressive," he said with a grin. As soon as the blow was blockd, Ezio made for a quick punch to the boy's side, aiming squarely at his ribs, putting speed instead of power into the attack.
