A few days before I came here, I was certain I only had one final chance to secure my salvation. It is gone. Everything I went through, masquerading, murder, blackmail, manipulation... I did them in the name of the Church for nothing. From simply a killer and all the way back to it.

[She leans on one of the posts of the gazebo.] I don't know why I'm saying this to anyone, let alone someone who has already had reason to dislike me.

Then you were only fooling yourself. [Narrows his amethyst eyes at her.] So naive. Once you shed blood, no matter how tainted or pure it may have been, your chances at being saved become none. [He puts emphasis on that word, because he could never believe in any deity. Especially not one that supposedly died for his sins and expects little to nothing in return. There is always a catch.] God hurts those he loves, from what I hear.

[He deals with this all the time. Hunters of the night slaying the beasts that hide in its shadows.]

[Raises an eyebrow at her statement.] ...do I?

[Her tone is a bit sharp.] The Lord loves and protects those who live by His words. We are not perfect; we must work to be worthy of that love. Do not call me naive when you are the one who has completely given up on yourself. I at least still hope for some redemption. My family forgave me. I just have to find forgiveness from my brother and my God.

[There's a long silence. She glances at him, then removes her mask.] We've met.

what? *reminds me of Pirates of the Carribean* 9 pieces of 8?

It's not naivety if there is logic and experience behind my words. [If her tone is sharp, then his is cutting.] If your god is so merciful, then why is my family in shambles? Or what's left of it? [Clenches his fists] Don't be greedy and wish for more than what you already have.

[Once she removes her mask, all becomes clear. That annoying person from before.] So we have.

[She's not carrying herself as she would in her usual clothes, but the aggressiveness flares, now.] I am blessed to have parents who can forgive me for killing their only son! If you have nothing, that is no concern of mine! You do not seek help, nor comfort, nor salvation; if you do not care for your soul, how can I be blamed?

And I would be pleased if you kept my identity to yourself.

The only viable person I can blame is myself. I'm not sure how you're jumping to conclusion about me blaming you. It's not like you're god. You're right, though, in not seeking any of that nonsense.

You blame God. To blame the very body of Christ is to blame even myself. If you blame yourself for losing whatever you had, speak that plainly.

And if you did not keep this to yourself, you would be dealt with accordingly.

Overzealous. You don't seem any different than those who were searching for that body. [And that makes her officially crazy in his books.]

Your threats mean little to me, and it's not a good enough reason for me to keep quiet. Quite the opposite.

The body of Christ is the Church itself, not the corpse. But as for that, I was going to turn the corpse over to the Vatican. I do not need it, beyond recovering it from power-crazed monsters.

I don't want to harm anyone, but I will defend myself.
