What: Arashi is actually spending some time outside his room... curious to meet any of his roommates. Probably to apologize to them about some stuff. Until then... making food.

An active guy like Zell was often in and out of his room, doing his monthly job, exercising, or just going out because he was bored, so it wasn't until now that he just finally met his new roommate.

He lounged on his bed, looking through network posts on the Guide when he started to get a whiff of one of his roommates cooking. The scent made Zell realize that he hadn't eaten in a while, and that he was starting to get pretty hungry. He poked his head out of his room to see someone he didn't recognize standing at the stove, but that didn't discourage him in the slightest bit.

"Yo!" Zell greeted with a friendly smile as he left his room, shutting the door behind him. "Whatcha cookin'?"

Arashi, at this point was cutting some vegetables. He looked over, hearing another roommate speak up and gave him a nonchalant shrug. "Ramen."

The guy, he had to admit, looked pretty cool. Nevermind the fact they almost had the same hairstyle. He wasn't much of a narcissist. It was just one obvious detail that caught his attention. "...Whoa... that's pretty intense, man. The tattoo I mean." He motioned to his own face as if to be more clear.

He instantly perked up, grinning as he also pointed to his own face. "Ya like it? Ma was pretty upset when I got it, but I think it's awesome!"

Speaking of faces, that drew Zell's attention towards Arashi's piercings. "Whoa, are those real safety pins in your face?!" This guy had a really coo look, and he seemed to like Zell's tattoo. Though they had only just met, Zell was really starting to get the feeling that they were going to get along pretty well.

"Huh? Oh. Yeah." Arashi dumped the vegetables in the boiling pot, covering it with a lid. "The old lady actually let me put them in when I was six. The eyebrow anyway. The lip came after about ten years. She never freaked out about it. Kinda helps when she's into the style anyway. Took a lot after my dad, so he didn't care either."

He leaned back against the counter, rubbing the back of his neck. "So... uh. Sorry 'bout all the noise." Not from just now, but mostly from before. "Making some extra for whoever wants to eat it."

So this was the guy doing all the yelling? Zell wondered about that, but he wasn't too bothered. That is, unless it became a regular thing. But right now, he was very much distracted by the food his cool new roommate was cooking.

"Sure, if ya got extra, I'll have some!" He took up the offer with a wide grin, then extended his hand for a proper introduction. "I'm Zell, by the way!"

Zell? Interesting name. "Arashi." The punk went back to the stove, and checked on the noodles. Almost done. "Shouldn't be much longer, man. Just waiting for the veg's to soften up a little."

He nodded his head to his new roommate. "So, uh, what'd you do back home, Zell?"

"I'm a mercenary!" he happily replied, as if there was nothing unusual about that at all. Though, to him, that was completely normal.

He figured while he was at it, he'd explain his school too, since that had confused people in the past. "I went to a school called Garden, but it's not like an actual garden with plants and stuff. Well, there's plants in the training center... Anyway, Garden's the name of the school, and the mercenaries are called SeeDs!"

"Wh- No way! You're totally screwing with me!"

Zell didn't look much older than himself. He didn't have a mean look to him at all. Did mercenaries even exist still?

By now, Zell wasn't too surprised by Arashi's reaction. He's met lots of people from very different worlds, so he understood that some places had different cultures.

"Nope, I'm serious! Back home, I was the best hand-to-hand fighter in Garden! See?" With a grin, he stepped back to a safe distance before bouncing on the balls of his feet and throwing a few punches to give Arashi a little demonstration. Not that it really proved anything, though.

"Huh." He stroked his chin, watching. "How 'bout that." Arashi couldn't help but smile a little. "That's... pretty cool, man. So you beat a lot of guys up in your day?"

Zell nodded with a proud grin. "Yeah, mostly monsters and evil sorceresses," he replied. "And the sorceress's jerk knight!"

"A sorceress?" A laugh. "Now I really think you're lying to me."

Arashi was very cut and dry. He had a hard time believing a place like that actually existed. As they talked, he grabbed some bowls, ready to serve up.

At the accusation, Zell knit his eyebrows with a slight pout.

"No way! I'm tellin' the truth, I swear! The evil sorceress from the future tried to compress time, and--" It wasn't until after he spoke the words that he realized how crazy that might sound to someone not from his world. "Okay, okay, I know that sounds weird, but it's really what happened!"

Arashi rubbed the back of his neck. Sheesh, this guy has to be a compulsive liar or something. It was really hard to swallow. "If you say so, man." He laughed a little as he talked, and turned to grab a couple bowls. "Go grab some chopsticks. It's good to go." He started serving the ramen.

Until now, Zell had never really had the need to use chopsticks. Even as long as he'd been on this ship with its diverse cultures, he stuck mostly to finger foods and forks. He quirked a brow, tilting his head to the side as he looked at Arashi. "You're gonna chop up sticks in the soup?"

Arashi gave him a look. "Ehhh? You know. Chopsticks. The things you use to pick up the food and eat the food with!"

What was with this guy??
