[Sherlock, on the other hand, finds this cloak and dagger nonsense? A departure from the mundane, and therefore infinitely more interesting. At least, for however long his interests actually lasts.
But even he knows that this meeting is serious in nature, and that is warrant for extending said interest for as long as it is necessary.
He walks up to John.]
Well, well. Much like one of those Bond films you're so fond of, isn't it?

[Sherlock scoffs and waves a dismissive hand.]
The usual, in situations like these. Leader types, paranoid types. The few that are obviously uncomfortable being here, and cling to the edges of the room. Soldiers. Assassins. And everything in-between.

Isn't it obvious? [No, Sherlock, it isn't. Not that he'll ever realize that, because to him? It is.]
Well, granted, it's an assumption. But probably a good one. There are ways that certain individuals carry themselves, the places the choose to sit or stand at, the obscuring of the face.

[John would point out that no, it's not obvious, but that's never mattered to Sherlock the last dozen times he mentioned it. So John will just go with it.]
Ah. I'd ask you to point them out, but I'm afraid they might notice and try to kill us.
[He's joking, really. If the reason behind all this wasn't so serious, he'd be enjoying himself.]

I suppose so. I'm afraid I feel more like an extra than a secret agent though.

[John glances around the room and then over at Sherlock.]
Any deductions about the participants so far?

I can pick out the soldiers and the paranoid types. How can you tell who is an assassin?
