Who: Anyone likely to be down on Konami VI. What: Adventures on the haunted planet. When: At any point this month, we're not picky. Where: Konami VI. Warnings: Monsters and all the potential gore that goes with them.
The popsicle flies in with no announcement. It darts forward like a projectile right at Dante's head, although Vergil doesn't doubt that he will notice it in time. Where others might offer things with a friendly toss, he uses force more suited to an attack. That is followed by footsteps as Vergil draws closer, walking casually as if nothing just occurred.
Vergil gives his brother a quiet grunt. Probably something along the lines of grudging respect for the dodge and a half-attempt at acknowledgment, since Dante did greet him.
"I wanted to look around."
Not much of an explanation, but that's what Dante gets. Besides, he's probably used to it by now.
"If you count the aliens. They're not like the ones I've seen." Vergil figured that Dante had probably already seen a few of the creatures lurking around the place.
"They seem to have forgotten something." Like skin. As far as Vergil was concerned, they were monsters. Which meant he really had no reason not to kill them. Even Dante couldn't complain about that, right? He glanced around, as if expecting one of the things to show up while they were talking.
"You should have come gotten one yourself. Then you'd have a choice."
The boss wouldn't let up until he brought some of them with him, even though they weren't going to last long anyway. He'd left most of them lying on the planet, anyway. That had just been a leftover he'd kept for getting the twin's attention. It seemed to work well enough.
"Why wouldn't I? Did you think I turned into some kind of pacifist?" Dante smirked right back. "Anything that tries to kill me first gets the same in return."
And speaking of, there are some odd groaning noises coming from a nearby building. Dante looks over in that direction and laughs.
"They're actually haunting the Haunted House? Dude, that's so lame."
"I thought you might be getting lazy." That was more teasing than anything, since they both knew what Dante could do. But Vergil naturally thought he was better. And giving his brother a hard time is always an option.
The noises catch his attention as well, and instead of commenting he simply moves in that direction, waving Dante along. If he's scared, Vergil can go in for him and deal with the monsters. There's clearly a suggestion that that is what he expects.
Vergil is about to say something in response, probably about how Dante is just always lazy, but that is interrupted as they reach the Haunted House ride. He catches sight of some monsters just a few feet in the entrance, mulling around as they wait for visitors to wander in.
"Then this should be fun enough. If you can take it."
He charges in, catching the nearest one by surprise and slicing through its chest before it even turns to attack.
He runs in behind Vergil, then teleports ahead of them, behind the first group of creatures. Rebellion skewers it right through the throat, and its head tips to one side as Dante yanks his sword to the side to release it.
There's another group coming up the hallway, drawn by the noise. Dante turns to deal with them, leaving the first group to Vergil.
Vergil frowns, but doesn't pause. Always trying to get ahead, hm? Well. He'll just have to fix that one. He raises Yamato and slices through the air, turning and cutting across its path with a second stroke. Demon energy sends two slim blades in its wake, cutting through the monsters in front of him as he rushes them.
And as he catches up, he doesn't slow down. Kicking one of the creatures to the side, Vergil pushes through the staggering bodies and dashes after Dante. Like hell he's going to let his little brother get ahead of him like that.
Dante is in between two of them, slashing at the one in front and letting the back swing take care of the one behind him. He glances over as Vergil reaches them.
"Try and keep up, old man." It's said with a grin. He hasn't had this much fun in months. Luckily there are more of the creatures coming. "Want to make a bet on who can kill the most?"
Old? Vergil would contest that one, but right on the heel of that joke is a challenge, and Vergil isn't about to let a challenge go by lightly. Instead of saying anything, he simply swings Yamato in a sharp slice, cutting off the head of the monster nearest him and sending it flying at Dante with a kick. He leaps over the collapsing body and charges toward the creatures up ahead.
He only spares Dante a smirk as he goes by, and one brief retort to accept the challenge.

He eyes the popsicle, currently melting into the pavement.
"Wrong flavor." He has no idea what flavor it was actually.

"So you have no problem with killing these ones. That's good to know."
Just like his brother had said, they could use the exercise. And exercise for a half-demon had to be more than a few laps around the Thor.

Killing things definitely counts as fun, so Dante quickly catches up to Vergil as they reach the building.
