Premeditated murder. However, I don't believe the victim mattered.

So, someone was planning on... just killing someone?

Consider the set-up. Everyone received invitations from an unnamed host or hostess to this mansion. The victim arrived with her friends while everyone else has just recently met her tonight. There's no real motive for a new acquaintance to kill her, and the questioning brought forth no suggestions that those individuals she arrived with had a grudge against her. The motivation is simply killing for fun, but there's no dubious intent from the guests...
Finally, the meat tenderizer and the knife were both in the kitchen, but would any of the guests know the layout of the kitchen and its utensils? There's no evidence of fingerprints on either weapon and no trace of a foreign follicle on the victim. The only footprints there now would be from myself and everyone else who investigated the crime scene. It was a clean crime and only someone who knows the mansion already.

Of course, there's no obvious motive for the host, either, is there?

Of course not. Sometimes, murder doesn't need an obvious motive. You've seen some people on Thor. There are those who simply enjoy killing.

[Karen understands frustration! "Soul perception," not so much.]
