[ Irene is quite pleased to spend her time dancing the evening away. Although proper decorum dictates that she should be asked to dance by a gentleman, she has adapted to the customs of the Thor enough to simply ask anyone who might be standing idly by. (And the couple glasses of wine she's had so far certainly helps~)]

[all right, another dance concluded; time to make a beeline for the tables]

[Sipping wine relaxedly at a table on the perimeter of the dance floor, Irene watches Lady Une with interest as she heads directly for the grouping of tables. When she comes close enough, Irene calls out lightly,]

Good evening, Lady Une. On a mission?

[that voice...]

[a slight turn]

Miss Irene, pleasure to see you made it.

[missthewoman]

A pleasure to be here. [She rises and comes closer.] This is a lovely party. It must have been quite the undertaking for you.

[11ady]

Couldn't have done it without my team.

[how do you treat casual female friends who don't work for you? 8| do you shake their hand? do you hug them?]

[missthewoman]

I'm certain not.

[[A shame Irene doesn't come with a manual~]]
[She shall bridge the hesitation with a warm European greeting of a light kiss on the cheek.]

[all right, Irene; a bit overly-casual but it'll pass]

I trust that all is well?

[missthewoman]

At the moment, I regret to say, no.

[leading her back to the table]

Then I'd prefer to sit while receiving such news.

Oh, no, it is nothing so dire as that. Indeed, you are better off standing.

[stopping right at the table]

What is it then?

[missthewoman]

There is music playing, yet I am not dancing.

[Totally serious.]

[11ady]

[staring; well, she can deadpan along with you]

Your police dog's at the bar.

[missthewoman]

[She chuckles at that - police dog indeed.]

What makes you think I want him? [She waves a hand dismissively.] Besides, too far.

You however, are at hand.
