As usual he feels entirely out of place, but the beauty of the entire set up is not beyond him. When he catches that rising sun, he raises an arm over his head to cast a slight shadow, enabling him to watch it all without squinting or blinking too hard.

He's not facing her directly when he speaks. "It's wonderful, Amaterasu." All the work she must have put into this and how beautiful it all turned out.

Amaterasu's ears rise when she hears Atem and she smiles. The goddess is very glad people can enjoy today and the sunrise. Not the planet, but hey; she didn't want to leave them without enjoying the actual rays and warmth one actually provided.

"I'm happy you like it, Atem."

"It's hard not to appreciate it." His arm lowered after a while, long sleeve going back to his side. All that time out of the once-used wardrobe probably set him back into being slightly uneasy with it, but he didn't mind.

His head tilted back slightly. "I think I'm growing used to learning more about the holidays and celebrations everyone brought with them." It at least made the ship a nicer place at times.

Her tail wagged a little harder at the comment. Well, if he needed help getting around, she was getting down soon.

"Yes. It's very fun." At least there weren't any extremely odd holidays or violent ones. Hm... she had to tilt her head. Were there any holidays like that?

"This place will never be home but sometimes it must feel close, right?"

He couldn't really comment too hard on that feeling for himself. But he wasn't here to ruin her festival. If she was happy that was all that really mattered.

"Mhm... sometimes it's close. Other times, it makes me miss it a little more."

She doesn't mind being honest about it.

His smile weakens but he's determined not to let her be upset. She did put in all this hard work and he'd feel extremely guilty for prompting her to feel bad after the fact.

"I hope today is close."

She nods, her smile returning. "Yes. Today is definitely a close day."

"Then all has gone according to plan, I trust." It eased him a little to know he hadn't ruined her day. Surely if he had he would never hear the end of it from that son of hers.

"Should I leave you be?" He wasn't entirely sure if she wanted this time to herself to bask in the sun and the nostalgic feelings. If that was the case he'd have no problem finding elsewhere to be.

"Oh yes..." Amaterasu said, rising up to her feet again and glancing around. Seemed busy; an open event like this needed to be overseen.

"You don't have to..." But, she wasn't going to linger here.
