Magic Item Usage 101 (OPEN)
Who: Patchouli Knowledge (weekwizard ), her Magic Studies class, and YOU.
What: Patchy is holding a practical class on magic item usage.
When: Early November, weekday morning.
Where: Thor High School Gymnasium
Warnings: Magic, mishaps, and chaos to the furthest degree.
Lined up on one side of the gym is a series of five tables. Each table has five items on it. Each item is labeled, from 1 to 25. Halfway down the gym there are set up three large wood logs, set up vertically. The students are given a seat on the bleachers on the side. Patchouli stands at the foot of the bleachers, looking up at them, giving the instruction for the activity.
"I will try to make this short, so as to give you all as much time as you need. The tables are arranged by type of item. Each table will require a slightly different effort.
"The first table of wands is simple. Use the wand like we have gone over in class, and describe briefly its effect on the sheet you'll be given. You are to use the wands on the targets you see in the center of the room.
"The next table has a number of scrolls and an identifier lens. You will use the lens to decipher the scroll, and then practice using it. You need simply use it to get your group credit for it. I will know if you do. Do note that ONE of the scrolls will need to be used on your partner instead of the targets. You will know which one that is.
"The next two are clothing items. Simply put it on to activate it and describe its effect.
"The last table are special items. We have covered each of them in the lecture. Simply give its name and use it. There are a small number of textbooks beside that table if you need to use reference.
"In the time we have for the class, I do not expect you to identify all of them. Just do as many as you can. Twelve will allow you full credit, and extra credit for three more. If you have questions, or if you need me to stop an effect, I will be here.
"One final note: Two of the items here are cursed. Neither of these items are particularly harmful, but I would advise you to be on the lookout and find them. None of these item's effects are permanent, and I have ensured that I can counteract any adverse effect they may produce.
"When you are ready, you may start at any table you wish. Papers are here. Be sure that all of your group's name is on it."

Tag a table. If you've a partner, then the partner can retag. If not, then someone else who doesn't have a partner can. Just like real school. Just find a partner in some way, shape, or form. Tags can either be journal-style or log-style. Really doesn't matter.
First thing's first. You'll need this.
At each table is a list of items for mun reference, divided into appropriate tables and given a brief description of the effect. Items in (PARENTHESIS) are the mishap effects.
Whenever you choose to use an item, roll 1-4. If you roll a 1, 2, or 3, it activates as normal. If a 4, then the Mishap effect happens! Some are left vague intentionally.
