A note on format

If you post fic in tiny font, with serifs, with a completely miserable contrast between text and background colour, then I don't care how beautifully-characterised and intricately-plotted it is. You're writing badfic. My headache is literal, as are my yells of "MY EYES

Ouch!. I feel your pain - I was slapped in the eyes by dayglo-green on black the other day. Not pleasant.

I get that which colours are easiest to read varies from person to person, but if you're posting for an unknown number of people, it's probably a good idea to go for something relatively mainstream, and more importantly, something that doesn't send half your audience running to the nearest optometrist.

(Yes, I'm aware of "?style=mine". It's still a pain in the arse.)

Sometimes your retinas have taken damage before you can apply something like that :-)

Ugh, yes. I recommend My_Livejournal_Style script. I would have murdered a thousand livejournal pages without it.
