[2011.8.2]A lot of people in the City. It looks like some even settle in, like it here. Probably best since the Doctor doesn't seem to have a way out. Guess that makes sense, what with the TARDIS apparently gone. Still need to ask about that.
THE TARDIS. IS A WOMAN. She's...sweet. A little mad, maybe, but that's not all that surprising -- considering.
Still need to do some more checking up.
[2011.8.3]Oh. My. God. Rose and the Doctor are living together.
I think...platonically. This is even better than the TARDIS.
[2011.8.14]
Started volunteering at the Welcome Center. Nice little place; hoping maybe it'll help. Maybe making sure other people aren't totally lost will ease away this impending...something. It was a pretty decent day until that...
grease rat assaulted me.
...I wonder if there's someone to report that to.
[2011.8.16]Met a
nice young man, doesn't talk all that much. Name of Ryan, and he had some advice, maybe it'll help. Oh, who knows-- take it one day at a time, I do that anyway, don't I? Story of my life.
Won't do any good crying about it. Suppose I'll have to get on trying to make this little flat pretty on a nothing budget.
[2011.08.19]Oh, nothing budget. Opposite ends of the universe and still I end up having to hit the bloody pavement...figures.
[2011.8.20]Guides, lots of guides. Seven, I've found so far, and most are fairly outdated. Seems everyone's got different priorities on what to catalog, too. Seems like a lot of people and business have been here awhile, though. Maybe I can get a job with more access to what's out there, floating around on the Network.
By the looks of it the first comprehensive guide put together was 2007. Last one after that is a year later. The year now is apparently 2011: the information of what's occurred since then is all mish-mashed. There are probably lots of gaps and such.
- 2007.2.1
-"It’s possible to use the fountains to either contact your own world, though briefly, or view those memories you rather not be reminded of. The things that you want to forget and the things that give you nightmares, or the things you regret or hate. Those are the things the fountains show when you look into them."
-"Leaving this place is extremely hard. It’s not impossible, but it’s not exactly the easiest thing to do either. But that only applies to the living. The living can get out, but the dead can’t."- 2007.5.7
-"Finding an exit, however, does not necessarily mean said exit will return you to your world of origin."- 2007.6.11
-Escape Guide, etc- 2007.9.24
-"The harder you search for [an exit], the less likely it is to appear. As well as that, there seems to be a high probability that you'll return home, only to be later drawn back into The City again. However, there is no certainty that you'll remember this place when you do return."
-"However, after dying, it takes 24 hours before a person is revived."- 2007.9.25
-"The deeper one enters into the Underground, the more deadly and vicious the monsters are."- 2008.11.16
-"[I]t should be noted, however, that the fountain has reportedly shown falsities."
-"The beach and ocean may be accessed from the central portions of the City by a platform for those who have no desire to hazard the dangers of the forest."- 2010.8.1
-Monster Guide, etc

Well. I was told to take things one day at a time, which is rather good advice. If you're a volunteer at the Welcome Center and we haven't met yet, I'm Donna.
Otherwise, I'll need something to pay the bills, I suppose. If anyone's interested, I'm experienced in office work -- 100 words per minute, electronic and hard copy filing systems, a bit of everything - I haven't quite gotten a resume together yet, but I will if it's necessary. So! Anyone hiring?
Thanks a lot
Doctor. Travel all over the universe, I end up here having to hunt for work. You're a real friend, you are.
Rose, we on for lunch sometime this week? Maybe a bit of shopping? I need good girl time.
Is there someone I could report an incident to? A man assaulted me maybe a week ago, and I think something needs to be done about it. You can't just let people roam around kissing strangers, can you? This is a proper City, right?
