CHARACTER
» Name: Caroline Forbes
» Fandom: The Vampire Diaries

» Gender: Female
» Age: 17
» Orientation: Heterosexual. It's canon that Caroline likes boys, she's one of the first people they show on the show having sex and it's with Damon, a guy. She dates and hooks up with Matt most of the first and second season as well as showing interest in Stefan. And the canon point I'm bringing her from she's just had sex with Tyler.
» Personality:
Like every teenage girl, Caroline comes with her issues; she can be petty, immature, insecure, and jealous. She gets wrapped up in things that don't really matter to most when there are 'bigger things' happening. Outwardly, she seems sweet, peppy, in control but of course, some of that, later on, appears to only be skin deep. Caroline has a bit of a competitive streak too, especially where Elena is concerned. It feels like, to her, that she tried so hard, and yet, Elena doesn't have to try at all and she gets everything while making it seem so effortless. She can be gossip sometimes and has an uncanny ability to find out information from any source and fast. Her 'Little Miss Innocent' act comes in handy because she's good at providing a distraction on demand despite being a terrible liar.
She knows how shallow she is and she understands that this and her tendency to be a bitchy, control-freak are two very serious flaws. She very much wants to change and work on her flaws; she wants to be "abyss deep" and her "kiddie pool" level frustrates her. She's also admitted that at times, "I'm a terrible, awful person-but I'm working on it". She starts taking baby steps towards the grand understanding that it's not all about her.
But over all, Caroline is a fierce and loyal friend. Despite the bitchiness and the shallowness, she can be just as kind and caring and sweet. She's protective of her friends and is willing to take on whatever comes that keeps them safe. She saved Matt from dying, therefore exposing her secret and herself as a vampire because she loved him and couldn't stand by and watch him die. But she also puts a lot of stock in other people's loyalty, she expects it in return. When Tyler didn't help her and the rest of the vampire gang against the werewolves, after she helped him (which is risky considering a werewolf bite is deadly to a vampire) and kept his secret, Caroline told him they were done as friends, that their friendship was over. However she does forgive him because despite it all, she understands him and cares about him.
After Caroline is turned into vampire, her personality and neurotic quirks seem to go haywire, which is standard vampire fare. To quote her from the show, "[N]ow I'm an insecure, neurotic control freak... on crack?" Although at times, she seems to be a tad more mellow, taking more things in stride. It probably helps that becoming a vampire has made Caroline a lot more confident. (And Stefan seems to help keep her calm). Though she can definitely still be high-strung like before. And with all the vampire strength and 'live forever' factor, she's not 'girly Caroline' anymore, she can handle herself.
Unfortunately even as she starts to become a more accepting and understanding person herself, she doesn't get it back from the person she really loves, Matt. He rejects her once he finds out who she is and after a series of events they break up because of it. Heartbroken about being dumped for who she is, something she can't change, it pushes her back towards Tyler, who understands what it's like to be different 'against your will'. Caroline is still really good at the whole denying her true feelings thing as well as getting petty and jealous despite growing as a person since she was turned into a vampire.
As a vampire, Caroline gets the usual perks of living forever and never aging, she heals faster too. She's got super human strength, speed, and heightened senses. She's got the ability to control someone, remember certain things or forget them entirely (aka compelling). Because Caroline is a newer vampire and drinks animal blood, her ability to compel (as well as her physical strength) is less effective than older, stronger vampires. The only way to kill in the TVD-verse vampire is sunlight, a werewolf bite, fire, or a stake through the heart. Anything involving wood or the herb vervain is extremely painful and debilitating for a vampire. Caroline has a ring made by her best friend Bonnie, who is a witch, that allows her to go out in sunlight, but very few vampires have this thus helping her hide the fact that she is a vampire. Of course, none of this really matters since at Amat, she's no longer a vampire!
» Appearance:
Caroline's most striking feature is her blonde hair. Worn mostly curly, it falls just past her shoulders. She's on the taller side with natural curves. And her eyes are blue. When first introduced, Caroline dressed very girly and wore brighter colors. Since turning into a vampire her style has changed, it's a bit darker, more striking, and mature. But she definitely rocks the whole hot, edgy vampire in dark makeup look for a little while.
» Suitability: Caroline is actually only a few months away from being eighteen. She's one of the most sexually active characters in the game (That isn't Damon.) I wanted to mention that caroline's collar would be a necklace she usually wears all the time, it's a necklace Elena gave her that used to have vervain in it but Caroline still wears it from time to time even as a vampire so I'm assuming she takes the vervain out at some point. So in the sample, she wouldn't be alarmed or anything about it being on.

» "amatomnes" First-Person Network Entry:
[Here, have a very peeved Caroline. She doesn't like being kidnapped. At all. Been there, done that but at least she's not in a cage and she's not being shot at. Her voice is deceptively sweet as it is firm.] Mrs. Lockwood? You might as well let me go. You don't really know who you're messing with. [False bravado is a go!] They'll come looking for me. I'm not going to hurt Tyler.
[She's wrinkling her nose, Her fake smile has downgraded to her life-sucks-but-at-least-I’m-still-pretty smug smile.] And by the way, if this is your idea of kidnapping? You kinda suck at it.
» "amatomneslogs" Third-Person Prose Entry:
Her hands smooth down her own legs, feeling the ghost of Tyler's touch on them. Her eyes close, trying to recall the last thing she remembers before waking up… Here, in some trashy-trying-to-look-nice, greek-themed motel. But it all comes in flashes, like a distant dream. Tyler gently nipping at her earlobe, his breath labored and hot against her ear as his arms wrapped around her from behind, both of them coming down from their respective highs. Her skin tingled just thinking of it. But there' more, after that, a memory that makes Caroline's brow furrow. Pain.
That bitch Carol Lockwood shot her! More accurately vervain-darted her but it's so the same thing to a vampire, okay? And maybe it's not cool to call your boyfriend-to-be-or-whatever-Tyler-is's mother a bitch but seriously, who does that? Caroline lets out a frustrated breath as the memories start to slowly creep in about what happened after she did the whole attempt-at-the-walk-of-shame from Tyler's room to the front door of the Lockwood mansion. No, her less than graceful escape had been interrupted by Tyler's mom and she shot her with a vervain dart, sending radiating pain through her whole body before forcing her to her knees before unconsciousness took hold. You'd think Caroline Forbes would get used to the world falling apart at its seams.
Okay, so this place is a lot better than some cage in a trailer or a dark, dank basement but still, kidnapping is kidnapping. And seriously? Where are her clothes? No clothes means no cell phone and even Mrs. Lockwood's not stupid enough to forget to take it away. What was going to happen to her? What was she going to do to her? And how did Mrs. Lockwood know? How had she figured it… Oh, well, that explains why Mrs. Lockwood has been staring Caroline down every time she was with Tyler.
Another exacerbated sigh later, Caroline glances around as she keeps the silk sheet pulled up against her chest, considering she completely naked except for her ring and… Wait, she wasn't wearing that necklace last night, was she? Her hand moves to touch the heavy silver around her neck only to realize… She gasps, her hand flying away from the little silver heart, the charm that Elena had given her when she was human, the one filled with vervain. But it doesn't burn to the touch, it doesn't hurt at all. Her eyes widen at the realization, wondering if the vervain just fell out or something. She moves to try and take it off, only to discover that there's no clasp, there's no way to… She tugs and she tugs and she tugs to no avail. "What the crap is going on?"
Okay, so maybe the vervain has weakened her or something. Her eyes dart around the room as if it'll yield more answers than it had before, trying her hardest not to let panic set in. And they don't have to go far to find the device sitting on top of her black, form fitting dress at the end of the bed. Finally! Clothes and something that doesn't look like it belongs in an epically bad gladiator movie. First thing's first, Caroline needs to get dressed even if she's lamenting the lack of a change of clothes because, ugh, hers smell like sex and booze and well, it just reminds her of how just a-little-bit-trashy she feels for walking out on Tyler after hooking up with him. Then she'll figure out how work whatever the hell kind of iPad/mp3 player/computer thing the device is. Then she's using it to get the hell out of here or call someone to help her, because where ever she is, it doesn't look like some fortress and she can't be THAT far from Mystic Falls, right?
