[Some twelve hours after receiving one of the frights of his life thanks to Tenjou Utena sticking her nose in all the worst business, Miki has opted to allow himself a "lunch break" a little earlier than usual

[Kaoru has been in the quaint tea shop for most of his morning, staring ahead. He'd stumbled upon this place during one of his explorations around the City. He comes here when the ticking became too much, when he could no longer stand the punctuating silence.

Upon hearing the door swing open, he looks up. There is a familiar looking boy, and he smiles.]

Miki, young sir? Is that you?

[stopwatcher]

[He doesn't know that many people in the City, so the sudden sound of his name startles Miki. Again, a click, as he looks around, and another as his eyes settle on Kaoru, a somewhat familiar face for a familiar voice]

...Hitachiin-san?

[slides watch back into his pocket, and takes a few steps toward him]

[ourdenouement]

[Kaoru smiles brightly and motions towards the empty seat across the small table. He didn't know Miki - or anyone else in the City with the exception of his mother and father - too well, but he likes the company.]

Mi~ki~ It's so nice to see you. Please, have a seat.

[stopwatcher]

Oh, [Miki looks to the seat, a little uncertainly, and looks around once more to confirm that there might be some kind of waiting staff, before nodding and pulling it out from the table. He sits!]

It's nice to see you, too. And well before the ... ball?
