House moving?

So here is question for you - how does one move house with 4 cats?  The fish are not a problem - they can be moved to my mums for a month - but how on earth do I move with 4 cats - especially if I decided to get a new house.

I'm thinking of moving house - can you tell? ;o)

When we moved to Brierley we waited until the last possible day, gave them a nice sedative from the vets, bundled both cats into respective cat boxes and drove the 70 odd miles from Liverpool. They were a bit cross with us to begin with but I think they've forgiven us :-) Where will you be moving to?

Well to be honest it is not the distance - as it would only be a few miles - it's more the fact that it is likely to be a new house with no carpet and no tiles and basically nothing in it.

Would I put them in a cattery for a couple of days until I had at least tiled the kitchen floor? Or would I put them in my mums and have them confined to possibly a conservatory and dining room for a few days which might upset my mums cat? I just don't know!

Oh I see...With Yoda and Mop we just put them straight into one of the rooms and told everyone helping not to go in there. They seemed happy enough but then they are house cats and yours go out (iirc).

Catteries are expensive, we looked at them but argued that Mrs Mop would never forgive us.

Kenny reckons he can get the kitchen tiled in a couple of days - then I would just keep them in there. I would be keeping them all in for at least 3 or 4 weeks until they made it their new home anyway :o)

I would keep them in for at least a few weeks to start of with anyway. Its just it would be a new new house - so no tiles or carpet on the floor etc..

No chance of an overlap as I need the equity in this house to buy a new one!

Ohh I like that idea - nice one - the lino would not even have to fit - just a cheap one from B&Q would do the job - Kenny thinks its a good idea too - you go girl!
