Another K-Rock fan passing through who is so glad it's back! It never sat right to me that in NY we didn't have a modern rock station. Now they need to bring back the Country station and we'd be set.
Actually, the only way I'm really going to be able to enjoy K-Rock being back is if they use their original formatting back from when they FIRST started out. Yeah, some modern rock, but please, for the love of God, hardcore metal needs to be played on it again.
I think it's reasons like this that I still dig on 105.5 fm, WDHA, as they haven't changed their format in the least bit since day one. They play a little bit of old and a little bit of new, a little bit of classic and a bit of metal, modern AND hair bands AND Hendrix. All the good stuff.
The only time I would listen to KRock would be for Howard Stern, and when he left I bought a Sirius in about five seconds. LOL. It's also not easy for me to get KRock where I am in CT, but when I did get the signal it was a cool station. When it turned to FREE FM I totally tuned out, only to listen to David Lee Roth's show one day in a fit of mild curiosity. I'm not surprised the new format didn't last. The djs' were horrible. I'm glad it's going back to being a rock station, though.
The only dj I liked (and not on Free) was The Radio Chick because I knew her back from 104.3. I never listened to the others. Especially not David Lee Roth. I can't stand him after Van Halen.
