I'm thinking of entering a half marathon in October, andy places I can look for a good training guide and some dietary advice? I'm not sure what you have at your disposal but I'd like to know some of this before I start intently training for it.

sadly, I already know the "More meat" one because my body has already informed me that it is required, and for some reason, chocolate chip cookies.... I haven't bowed to the pressure of that yet...

Currently I have a schedule from Hal Higdon "halhigdon.com" for prepping up. I'm going to work with his model and adapt it to my use. The only problem I see is that I can't determine how far I run. I just go to a point turn around and come back, I don't know how far I've gone.... that could make things difficult. Suggestions?

The Runners world mag actually has some nifty gear that measures how far you run by the length of your strides and such.

Aside from that, I guess just checking a road map before you start to see how far something is...tee hee
