the story continues to draw me in - as well as others obviously! Excellent job for your first fic! I too like that scene of the Doctor catching a glimpse of the two of them in the oval mirror - such an evocative yet warm moment.

The glimpse of the two of them in the mirror, the thought that crosses his mind when Rose asks him to stay with her, and his memory of the kiss are my personal favourite Doctor moments of this chapter. So much he longs for, so much he doesn't allow himself to reach for, even when it's so obvious it's mutual. He simply can't accept it, not yet.
